Buster Bar Ice Cream Dessert Recipe

Buster Bar Dessert is a nostalgic treat that combines layers of creamy vanilla ice cream, crunchy peanuts, and a rich chocolate topping. Inspired by the classic Dairy Queen Buster Bar, this homemade version is easy to make and perfect for summer gatherings.

Buster Bar Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies, crushed
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ½ gallon vanilla ice cream (softened)
  • 1 lb salted peanuts
  • 2 cups powdered confectioner’s sugar
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup butter
  • 12 oz evaporated milk

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:
    • Mix the crushed Oreo cookies with the melted butter.
    • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to create the crust.
  2. Layer the Ice Cream:
    • Spoon the softened vanilla ice cream over the crust.
    • Sprinkle the salted peanuts evenly over the ice cream layer.
    • Place the dish in the freezer to set while you make the chocolate topping.
  3. Make the Chocolate Topping:
    • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the powdered sugar, butter, chocolate chips, and evaporated milk.
    • Whisk until the chocolate chips melt and the mixture comes to a boil.
    • Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often.
    • Let the chocolate topping cool completely.
  4. Assemble the Dessert:
    • Pour the cooled chocolate topping over the frozen ice cream and peanuts.
    • Spread it to cover the entire surface.
    • Freeze the dessert until firm (about 1-2 hours, or overnight for best results).
    • Before serving, let it soften in the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes.

Enjoy your homemade Buster Bar dessert! It’s a delightful treat that everyone will love.
